About this tool

The Treemap Generator turns an indented outline or nested JSON into a squarified treemap, where each leaf's area is proportional to its value and the layout minimises extreme aspect ratios. Tiles can be coloured by their parent group or by relative value, and clicking a branch drills into it with a breadcrumb trail back to the top. All parsing, layout and the PNG export run in your browser, with input capped at 600 lines so it stays responsive.
