About the PPI Calculator

PPI (Pixels Per Inch) is a measure of pixel density — how many pixels are packed into each inch of a display. A higher PPI produces sharper, crisper images. It is calculated by dividing the diagonal pixel count (derived from the width and height resolution) by the physical diagonal screen size in inches.

The formula is: PPI = √(width² + height²) / diagonal_inches. Apple's Retina displays are typically 220+ PPI — a density high enough that individual pixels are not distinguishable at normal viewing distances.
