About this tool

The generator gives every value a random position, then adds candidate clues of four real types — equality, negative, somewhere-left and immediately-left — and after each addition counts, by exhaustive constraint search over all permutations, how many assignments still satisfy the set: a clue is kept when it cuts that count, the first few are kept only to make the count measurable at all, and the search stops as soon as exactly one assignment survives. A minimisation pass then drops every clue that is not strictly needed and the result is verified exhaustively, so the clue set you see always has exactly one solution and no redundant clue.

Layouts are clamped to 3–4 categories and 3–5 values per category — at most 207,360,000 possible assignments — and the solver runs under a node budget, so a hard layout reports a message instead of freezing the tab. Everything, including the exhaustive search, the elimination helper and the PNG export, runs entirely in your browser and nothing you type is uploaded.
