The trace runs on a working copy capped at 260 px on the long edge, so a photo that large can produce tens of thousands of paths. Raise the tolerance and the minimum area to get a smaller, cleaner file.

About this tool

The image is reduced to a palette with median-cut quantisation; for every palette colour the tool builds a boundary-edge map, walks those edges into closed contours (marching-squares style) and simplifies each contour with Douglas–Peucker before emitting an SVG path. Transparent pixels can be dropped or kept as a region. Tracing runs entirely in the browser and no image ever leaves your device.
