About this tool

This image to braille art converter runs entirely in your browser. Each braille character holds a 2×4 block of dots, so the image is sampled to a grid twice as wide and four times as tall as the character output; the standard dot layout (1 and 4 on the top row, 7 and 8 on the bottom) decides which of the eight bits in each U+2800-block codepoint is raised.

Low-detail or high-contrast pictures convert best. The result is ordinary text, so it pastes into a chat, a commit message, or a README — as long as the font you view it in includes braille glyphs. Nothing you upload leaves your device.
