EXIF & Metadata Stripper

See exactly what a photo gives away — camera, timestamps, editing software and GPS coordinates — then strip it by re-encoding the image through a canvas. Compare the file sizes before and after, and download a clean copy. Nothing is uploaded.

About this tool

The viewer reads the JPEG marker segments directly — APP0, APP1 (EXIF or XMP), APP2 (ICC), APP13 (Photoshop/IPTC) and comment blocks — and walks the EXIF TIFF directory for camera details, timestamps and GPS, converting the three rational coordinates into decimal degrees. PNG text chunks are listed the same way.

Stripping does not edit those bytes in place: the pixels are redrawn to a canvas and re-encoded, which guarantees no metadata survives, at the cost of one generation of JPEG compression — that is why the before/after sizes are shown. Everything runs locally; your photo is never uploaded.
