Guitar Chord Diagram Maker
Build a printable chord sheet from a library of open chords, barre shapes and seventh, sus, add and extended voicings — or draw your own. Every diagram shows the nut or fret number, finger positions, and which strings are open or muted.

Printing uses your browser's own print dialogue — choose “Save as PDF” there to download the sheet. Only the diagrams are printed; these controls are hidden.

Click a chord to add or remove it. Shapes are found by searching the fretboard, so the diagram always spells the chord correctly — the lowest sounding note is the root, every chord tone is present, and no note outside the chord is played.

About this tool
Rather than storing hundreds of hand-drawn shapes, this tool searches the fretboard for each chord: it lists every combination of fretted, open and muted strings inside the first twelve frets, rejects anything that is missing a chord tone or contains a note that is not in the chord, requires the lowest sounding string to be the root, and then scores what is left to prefer open strings and low positions. The best result is drawn as SVG — nut or fret number, string lines, open and muted markers, and finger dots — and the audio playback plucks each string in turn with a filtered sawtooth pair through a falling low-pass filter, which is a fair impression of a strummed guitar.
The sheet prints through your own browser, and everything — the diagrams, the chord search and the sound — is generated in your browser. No data is uploaded.
Known limitation: only root-position voicings are offered for the library, so inversions and open-string partial shapes are deliberately left out. Extended chords with more than six chord tones (such as 13th chords with alterations) may fall back to a reduced voicing, since six strings cannot hold every note.
