Audio level
Bars are the frequency spectrum (low → high), the teal line is the live waveform, and the numeric value is RMS loudness in dBFS clamped to −100…0. A warning appears above −3 dBFS, where the input starts to clip.
Self-timer photo booth
Mirroring is on, so saved PNGs are mirrored too — the capture uses the same orientation you see.

Requesting access… If your browser shows a prompt, choose Allow.
2. Devices & format
Device names are blank until you grant permission — the browser hides labels from pages that have not been allowed yet. Changing a selection stops the old tracks and re-acquires the stream with deviceId: { exact }.
3. What the browser negotiated
No active track yet. Start the test to read the real values back from track.getSettings().
The actual frame rate counts real delivered frames over one second (through requestVideoFrameCallback when the browser has it, otherwise a rAF sampler).
Privacy: this page never records, stores or uploads your camera or microphone. The preview is a local MediaStream, the meter runs on an in-memory AnalyserNode, and photos stay in this tab as data URLs until you close it. Closing the tab or pressing “Stop everything” releases the devices.
About this tool
Webcam & Microphone Test opens your devices with the browser's own getUserMedia API and reports what the hardware actually negotiated — real resolution, measured frame rate, and the track settings — alongside a Web Audio level meter, a frequency spectrum, a self-timer photo booth and a device switcher.
Everything is processed in your browser: no frame, sample or photo is uploaded, recorded or sent to any server, and no permission is requested before you press a start button. Because browsers only expose cameras and microphones on secure origins, this page must be served over https:// or from localhost — on plain http:// from another host navigator.mediaDevices is undefined and the tool explains that instead of failing.
