Fades
A short fade avoids the click you normally get when a cut lands mid-waveform. The fades are applied to the export and to the preview, and each is capped at half the selection.
About this tool
The waveform you see is drawn from the decoded samples themselves — for each pixel column the tool takes the minimum and maximum sample value in that slice of audio and draws the pair, which is why transients stay visible instead of being smoothed away. Decoding uses the browser's own audio decoder, so anything your browser can play it can trim. The export writes a real WAV file from scratch: a 44-byte RIFF header followed by 16-bit little-endian PCM, with the fade envelope baked into the samples. Nothing is re-encoded or compressed, so there is no quality loss beyond the original decode.
Files up to 120.00 MB are accepted; larger ones are refused with an explanation rather than freezing the tab, because decoding a very long file needs a lot of memory. Everything — decoding, trimming, encoding and playback — happens in your browser, and your audio is never uploaded anywhere.
